Silicone RTV Coatings
Most competitive pollution control solution over long term
- Specifically formulated for high voltage insulators.
- Suppresses development of leakage currents due to a dynamic and interactive surface which retards water film formation and contamination solubility.
- Arc track resistance additives.
- Much longer in service life time than greases.
- Controlled application for optimum performance and total life cycle cost.

- A coated insulator, after washing, will regain its monolayer of cyclics within 40 - 60 minutes. A water droplet resting on the fresh monolayer of LMWS (low molecular weight silicone or cyclics) will achieve a mean angle of hydrophobicity of 120O on HIVC.
- Contaminants that rest on the coated insulator are quickly encapsulated by the very low surface free energy cyclics. The encapsulated particles form microstructures on the coating's surface maintaining the hydrophobic characteristics of the HVIC.
- HVIC in many cases is a one-time long term (20 + years) application.
- With HVIC installations there is no routine maintenance, just routine inspection at normal inspection intervals.
- The long-term reliability coupled with low or no maintenance makes HVIC the low cost reliable solution.
- Payback on investment is within a very short timescale, typically within 18 - 24 months.
